Code of Practice
We have agreed to observe and be bound by The Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 (including Amendments 2019) administered by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).
Copies of the code are available from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority website.
What does this mean for you?
The code is produced by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) to ensure that we provide top quality care to all international students. Signatories of the Code of Practice are carefully audited by NZQA regualarly and must show high qualify support for all international students and ethical care and behaviour related to every aspect of time with international students studying in New Zealand at all times.
High quality service to students starts from the first inquiry, through the enter period of the students' study and following on from their study. Every international student enrolled with us is protected by the Code of Practice and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. We are proud to be a signatory to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.
Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service and can be viewed on Immigration website.
Eligibility for Health Services
Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, you may be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Full details on entitlements to publicly funded health services are available through the Ministry of Health, and can be viewed on Ministry of Health website.
The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website.
