Ara is proud to be the official contract holder for YES in Canterbury. Since taking on this role, we’ve grown YES exponentially and it’s now one of the biggest and most successful YES regions in the country!
So, what is YES? YES is a career-enhancing initiative for Year 12 and 13 high school students with an interest in business and entrepreneurship. As a YES participant, you’ll come up with a business idea and take it all the way from ideation to execution via a series of challenges. Along the way, you’ll be mentored, motivated and inspired by a wide range of local businesspeople and professionals.
And if you go on to study at Ara, you can accelerate the momentum of your startup by working with Te Ōhaka, our Centre for Growth and Innovation. With Te Ōhaka’s business and entrepreneurial expertise, you can increase the likelihood of it becoming a successful, high-growth enterprise.
