The Ara Foundation Outbound Exchange Grant supports Ara students to participate in an outbound student exchange with one of Ara’s partner institutions. The programme provides opportunities for cultural immersion, academic development, and international experience.
Grants up to $10,000 are available.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be currently enrolled at Ara Institute of Canterbury.
- Meet the requirements for Ara Outbound Student Exchange Programme.
- Be eligible for nomination to the partner institution.
- Be available to travel during the specified semester.
- Be willing to act as a Student Exchange Ambassador upon return.
Student Exchange Ambassador Commitments
Students receiving this scholarship shall:
- Share photos and testimonials for marketing.
- Participate in information sessions or Q&A.
- Feature in newsletters, website stories, or short videos.
- Support future applicants as mentors.
How to Apply
- Complete and submit an online application form (click on the Application Form button below) and upload the below required documents to the Form.
- Provide a personal statement with letter of motivation, no more than 500 words that outlines the special circumstances that make you a candidate for this scholarship, how an exchange will benefit your study and how you will represent Ara as a student ambassador.
- Provide your academic transcript demonstrating your B average (or above) academic record.
- Provide two referee reports, which comment on your ability to succeed in this programme and attest to your character. One referee report must be from an Ara tutor and the other is for character reference. (Please use the templates provided below).
- Provide Department Endorsement from your Programme Leader.
