The aim of this course is to develop advanced knowledge and skills in the sphere of breastfeeding and lactation, utilising an evidence informed approach.
Analyse the biochemistry of breastmilk and critically evaluate the influence of a range of factors on the quality and quantity of milk composition and supply.
Utilise diagnostic reasoning to address a range of breastfeeding issues and pathologies and use a solution focussed approach to resolving these.
Critique breastfeeding practice from a range of perspectives including anthropological, socio-cultural, political, economic and environmental.
