Connecting Ara to the world

We believe meaningful global partnerships are key to driving innovation and creating transformative educational experiences. Through strategic collaborations across education, industry, government and community sectors, we’re delivering world-class learning while remaining deeply connected to our local roots.

As part of our internationalisation strategy, we’re proud to offer Transnational Education (TNE) pathways that connect learners with global qualifications while beginning their studies close to home. These programmes—developed in partnership with international institutions—enable learners to pursue a range of academic outcomes, whether through credit transfer, articulation agreements or collaborative programmes, streamlining their academic journey and expanding their global horizons.

What is Transnational Education?

Transnational Education (TNE) refers to higher education programmes or qualifications offered by an institution in one country but delivered to students in another, allowing them to earn a foreign credential without relocating. For example, students living in one country can study locally while completing a degree from an overseas institution.

At Ara, TNE opens doors for learners to access international qualifications and experiences while staying connected to their home environment. It offers flexibility, global perspectives and sometimes even the chance to graduate with dual qualifications.

Study Abroad

Study Abroad allows students from partner institutions to experience learning at Ara for a short-term period, typically one semester. This pathway is ideal for students whose home institution does not have a formal exchange agreement with Ara but is still recognised as a partner. As a Study Abroad student, you will pay your tuition fees directly to Ara (with a discount) and gain access to our high-quality courses, facilities and student support services. Study Abroad offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a new academic environment, broaden your global perspective and enhance your personal and professional development, all while earning credits that can contribute to your home degree.

Exchange

Ara offers a variety of exchange opportunities through our global network of partner institutions. These programmes enable learners to experience different cultures, broaden their academic horizons and build international networks, all while earning credits toward their Ara qualification (or home institution qualification).

Inbound Exchange: Students from partner institutions can come to Ara and study for one semester, gaining access to our courses, facilities and student support services.

Outbound Exchange: Ara students have the chance to travel overseas and study at a partner institution for one semester, immersing themselves in a new academic and cultural environment.

Articulations and Pathways

Ara works with a wide network of partner institutions to create articulation agreements and study pathways that make education more flexible and globally connected. These partnerships allow students to begin their studies at one institution and transition seamlessly to Ara, or vice versa, while receiving credit for completed courses.

Through these pathways, learners can transfer credits, progress to higher-level qualifications without starting over and combine study experiences across different countries.

Dual Degrees

A dual degree is an academic pathway that enables students to earn two complete qualifications—one from each partner institution—through a coordinated international study experience. In Ara’s partnership with Fachhochschule Dortmund (FH Dortmund), students follow an integrated curriculum that meets the academic requirements of both institutes, allowing students to graduate with two separate degrees that each hold full recognition in their respective countries.

This structure gives students the opportunity to broaden their expertise, gain intercultural experience and enhance their global career prospects, all while completing the two degrees in a more efficient and connected way than pursuing them independently.

Joint Programme

A Joint Programme is a collaborative qualification delivered by Ara and an international partner institution. These programmes combine expertise and resources from both organisations, often resulting in dual or co-awarded qualifications. This gives students a globally recognised credential and an enriched learning experience that prepares them for international career opportunities.

Joint Institute

A Joint Institute is a formal collaboration between Ara and an international partner to create a shared educational entity. These institutes combine resources, expertise and facilities to deliver innovative programmes, research opportunities and globally recognised qualifications. They provide students with an immersive international learning experience designed to prepare them for success in a global workforce.

Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)

Ara signs MoUs with international institutions to formalise strategic relationships. These agreements underpin long-term collaboration in areas such as curriculum development, research and student mobility.

Our global partners

We collaborate with a growing network of international institutions across Asia, North America and beyond. These partnerships are carefully selected to ensure academic quality, cultural exchange and student success.
