This scholarship assists young women from refugee backgrounds who aspire to complete a degree, but who may be denied the opportunity because of their financial circumstances. The purpose of the scholarship is to enable recipients to graduate from a New Zealand university or polytechnic without the significant debt faced by many of their peers.
Please note: Due to changes in the government’s fees-free policy, school leavers can apply for the scholarship.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship you must be:
- a young woman, aged 18 to 28
- from a refugee background
- a permanent resident or citizen of Aotearoa New Zealand
- in a position of financial and/or personal hardship
