The New Horizons for Women Trust offers three types of awards: Education, Research, and Specific Purpose. These awards are one-off grants to help with study and/or living expenses.
Eligibility
Education Scholarship
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a woman (assigned female at birth and/or self-identify as female)
- Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- Be studying at Level 3 or above
- Have not received a New Horizons for Women Trust scholarship previously at the same level of study
Targeted Education awards are also available for:
- Refugee and/or migrant women
- Women studying STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) at degree level
- Women studying for a trade qualification
- Women who have had their secondary education curtailed due to teen motherhood and are now studying at degree level while a solo parent
- Women studying business at foundation or certificate level (Level 3-4)
- Pasifika women studying Early Childhood Education (at any level)
- Women undertaking environmental studies (at any level)
- Women studying in non-traditional fields
Research Scholarship
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a woman conducting research that benefits women and/or girls in New Zealand
Specific Purpose Scholarship
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a woman and studying or developing an initiative with a specific purpose
