The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support and mentoring to high achieving Māori and Pasifika students during the second and third years of their Bachelor of Construction (Quantity Surveying major). The value of the scholarship is up to $8000 per year to cover academic course fees for the recipient’s second and third years of study.
One scholarship will be offered to a student starting their second-year studies in 2025.
In addition, Flame Stoppers may offer the successful scholarship recipient paid work experience during all or part of the tertiary holidays. Any offer of work, and employment contract, will be negotiated directly with the scholarship recipient.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Māori or Pacific descent
- New Zealand citizens or permanent residents
- a member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS)
- enrolled in a degree programme, majoring in quantity surveying/construction economics
- commencing their second year of degree study
