Open Day 2024

Discover how to get the skills you need for the job you want at Open day! Find us at Christchurch City, Woolston, Manawa and Timaru campuses.
At Open Day you can:
- Talk to tutors
- Attend information sessions
- Check out more than 150 career-enhancing study options from certificate to postgraduate qualifications
- Take a campus tour
- Find out about scholarships and fees-free study options
- Learn about Ara’s comprehensive student support services
- Enrol on the day (remember to bring ID e.g passport or birth certificate)
- This campus is located on the block between Madras Street, Moorhouse Avenue and Barbadoes Street in the central city. Free parking is available in the Barbadoes Street car park.
- Open Day activities are located in the Whareora Sports Hall, W Block (signage on campus will guide you there).
- At the City campus you can: visit booths for all subjects, talk to tutors, take a campus tour, attend information sessions and find out about student services.
- Catch a free shuttle to the Manawa campus to attend information sessions relating to nursing, midwifery, medical imaging and pre-health (go to the Whareora and listen for departure announcements).
They will leave at: 3:15pm | 3:45pm | 4:15pm | 4:45pm
City campus and accommodation tours
City campus tours leaving from the meeting point in the Whareora (Includes a brief stop at Te Ōhaka - Centre of Growth and Innovation).
20 minute tour: 3:30pm | 4pm | 4:30pm | 5pm

City campus information sessions
Meet in the Whareora, listen for the announcement about your session and we’ll guide you to the session venue.
Info session schedule will be updated before Open Day.
- The Woolston campus is where Trades programmes are delivered
- This campus is located on Ensors Road in Woolston. Free parking is available off Sullivan Avenue.
- Open Day activities are located in Ōpāwaho, VF Block (signage on campus will guide you there).
- At the Woolston campus you can talk to tutors about all Trades subjects and find out about student services. Campus tours will be available on demand between 3.30pm and 5pm.
- Manawa is where our nursing, midwifery and medical imaging programmes are delivered.
- This campus is located on Antigua Street near the hospital. Parking is very limited; we recommend you either walk, bus, bike or Uber there, or park at our City campus and catch our free shuttle to Manawa (please allow plenty of time before your information session).
- At the Manawa campus you can: talk to tutors about health programmes, take a campus tour, attend information sessions and find out about student services.
- Catch a free shuttle to the Manawa campus to attend information sessions relating to nursing, midwifery, medical imaging and pre-health (if you're at the city campus, go to the Whareora and listen for departure announcements due at 3:15pm, 3:45pm, 4:15pm and 4:45pm).

Meet on the ground floor, listen for the announcement about your session and we’ll guide you to the session venue.

- This campus is located on Arthur Street, Timaru.
- Open Day activities are located in Starz Restaurant, TA Block (signage on campus will guide you there).
- At the Timaru campus you can: find out about all subjects and student services, talk to tutors and take a campus tour (on demand).
