1000th Hiroshima Shudo University student comes to Ara

The relationship between Hiroshima Shudo University (HSU) in Japan, and Ara Institute of Canterbury has just reached a noteworthy milestone, in that HSU has just sent their 1,000th student to study at Ara (formerly CPIT).
On the weekend of Saturday 25 August a group of 11 Japanese students from HSU arrived at Ara, making up the total of 1000, and following in the footsteps of the first HSU student to come to Ara in 1992.
The latest group of students from Hiroshima Shudo University with Elizabeth Avery, Programme Leader - School of English (in the back), and Ana Neves, Administrator - International Training Programmes (in the front).
Tim Hayashi, Manager - International Market Sector at Ara said, “This is a significant achievement for both HSU and Ara, and a result made possible by everyone involved in developing and nurturing this institutional relationship through a range of activities with HSU (student exchange, short-term groups, and semester study abroad).”
HSU are a longstanding institutional partner of Ara, and both Institutes offer reciprocal exchange programs for their students.
HSU currently has 32 partner institutions in 14 different countries, and of the 4,015 students they have sent overseas since 1982, approximately a quarter have chosen to study at Ara.
