identify common mechanisms of injury and the impact of trauma and resulting pathophysiology on multiple body systems.

critically analyse the team approach to systematic assessment, relationship of injury severity scores and management of patients who have received traumatic injury.

critically review the assessment and management of patients with specific orthopaedic, crush, spinal, and neurological injuries.

determine nursing responsibilities in caring for patients who have sustained facial, ENT, eye and wounds injuries, including major burns.

differentiate key assessment frameworks and management modalities for specific patient groups (paediatric, elderly and pregnant patients).

determine nursing responsibilities in preparing and assisting with life preserving procedures in trauma care including intubation and massive fluid resuscitation.
