This course aims to allow students to develop a contextual understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics by building advanced knowledge of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics.
Apply the principles of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics according to client variables.
Critically analyse pharmacotherapeutic indications for common classes of medications used for long-term and common conditions.
Identify contraindications, side effects and drug interactions, including those associated with the use of prescription, over-the-counter and complementary medicines and devices.
Perform a comprehensive medicines assessment and make safe prescribing decisions within professional and regulatory frameworks.
