Human Lactation, Breastfeeding and Infant Nutrition
This course aims to develop students' theoretical and practical knowledge related to breastfeeding, human lactation and infant nutrition to an expert level, equipping them to provide lactation education, environments that support breastfeeding, and infant nutritional support.
Articulate an awareness of the global context of breastfeeding and human lactation from historical and cultural perspectives.
Explain the anatomical and biological features of breastfeeding and human lactation.
Critically analyse issues relating to the promotion and maintenance of the breastfeeding relationship between mother and baby.
Enact advocacy in developing a community environment that supports breastfeeding.
