Principal Study - Music Performance 1
To enable learners to acquire technical skills appropriate to performance in a specific music genre and to integrate the theoretical and practical skills gained from their music study into performance.
The learning outcomes for this course are:
Employ essential techniques on a selected instrument (including songcraft) at a foundational level.
Analyse and critique their own performance.
Read and interpret notated music (ranging from score to lead sheets as required).
Perform individually and in a group in a range of styles at a foundational level.
Demonstrate emerging values of Aroha and Hono in their professional practice.
