Ara-built house-fronts for Plunket Halloween day

25 October, 2018

Ara tutors have built spooky house-fronts for The Trick or Treat Family Fun Day at Caroline Bay this Sunday.

The event gives children a safe place to dress up and collect lollies this Halloween while also raising money for Timaru's Plunket Family Centre.

Trades tutors Cody McMinn and Cole Millar Plunket accepted the challenge and have the house fronts ready to erect early Sunday morning.

Under McMinn’s watchful eye, Ara students painted the Plunket Family Centre rooms in June and Ara tutors were only too happy to help out again.

“The reason we agree to help Plunket is because of the awesome stuff Plunket does for the community. If it was not for them a lot of families would have nowhere to turn. Our students also get a lot out of working there too, as it is real life experience for them,” he said.

The day will run from 12-4pm. Tickets are $5 per person or $20 for a family pass, and are available from the Fear NZ website, with all proceeds going to Plunket Family Centre Timaru.
