Our part-time Digi-boost courses are an affordable and convenient way to enhance your computer skills and increase your own or your team’s computer skills and to increase capability and productivity in the workplace. It’s a great way to gain basic skills in a range of software programs or to expand on existing skills.

Professional development short courses

Short courses are a convenient way for your team to brush up on existing skills and learn new ones. We offer a wide range of short including conflict management, health and safety, cultural competency, effective leadership, social media, Digiboost and more.

Recognition of prior learning

Do you or your employees have extensive workplace experience but no formal qualification to recognise those skills? At our Centre for Assessment of Prior Learning we can assess your skills, knowledge and work experience and help you to translate them into part or all of an Ara qualification.

The process is rewarding and confidence-boosting. It can be undertaken while you continue to work and it’s cost-effective too - assessment to gain a full degree is equivalent to the cost of just one full-time year of study.

Cultural competency

Increasingly, Māori language and culture play an important role in the workplace and the community. Apprenticeships/work-based traineeships

If you have an employee who wants to undertake and apprenticeship in order to become fully qualified, or you’d like to take on one of our students as an apprentice, we can help.

Work-integrated learning

Many Ara students need real-world, project-based experience in order to complete their qualifications. They undertake this work at no cost to the business or organisation. If you have a project a student can help with, give us the details and we’ll match you to a suitable intern.

Flexible provision

A growing number of our programmes are delivered via evening and/or online classes and tutorials, enabling students to fit study around full-time employment.

Facilities hire

We have a variety of facilities on campus – ranging from studios to conference rooms - which can be hired for meetings, events and functions. Tell us what you require and we can provide you with options and a quote.
