Cisco Training programmes

The Cisco Academy

Ara has been a Cisco Network Academy in New Zealand since the Academy system was introduced 20 years ago. Ara is an Academy Support Centre (ASC) for 22 participating Academies across the country. Currently Ara is also the only Instructor Training Centre (ITC) in New Zealand where students gain instructor training and certification. Any New Zealand training establishment wanting to offer Cisco curriculum must have suitably trained staff. Most other ITPs offer CCNA courses as part of larger programmes of study but not as standalone options.

Students completing these training schemes will be well positioned to sit externally for any Cisco Systems Certification (Ara is a Pearson Testing Centre enabling this to be done onsite). Cisco currently offers discount vouchers for students completing CCNA modules.

When you participate in the Networking Academy, you are joining a global community linked by common goals and technologies. Schools, colleges, universities, and other entities in over 160 countries participate in the program.

Students can pathway to other Cisco training schemes and there is also the potential for students to credit courses towards existing diploma or degree programmes.
