Secondary Tertiary Courses are a good option if you're thinking of leaving school early, or you want to check out study options you don't know a lot about.

In this five day plumbing gateway course, you will learn about workplace safety in the plumbing industry as well as gain an understanding of the machinery used in this industry. Following this five day course, you will be prepared for your 10 or 20 week work placement.

You will be expected to have completed the first aid standards through your school Gateway programme.

To complete this Youth programme you are required to do the NZQF unit standards outlined in the table below. The credits above are Ara credits which you will receive upon completion of this programme. Please note the number of credits may be different.

Academic requirements
  • To enrol you must 16 years or over and be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, or hold a visa which allows you to be enrolled in a New Zealand secondary school. If you are currently enrolled at a high school you will need to provide Approval of Enrolment from your school Principal.

  • If English is not your first language you are also required to provide evidence of your English language skills or credits in English rich subjects from New Zealand educational institutions. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.
