Course Content

Develop specialist skills to work within many industries requiring CAD expertise.

This course covers: planning CAD scale production, producing scale production drawings to line stage, completing and verifying CAD scale production drawings, printing drawings and managing files. These skills are relevant to many technology-related areas

Students must have previously completed 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) 2.

This course can be paid for through your secondary schools' STAR budget.

To complete this Youth course you are required to do the NZQF unit standards outlined in the table below. The credits above are Ara credits which you will receive upon completion of this course. Please note the number of credits may be different.

Academic requirements

To enrol you must 16 years or over and be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, or hold a visa which allows you to be enrolled in a New Zealand secondary school. If you are currently enrolled at a high school you will need to provide Approval of Enrolment from your school Principal.

English requirements

If English is not your first language you are also required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below or credits in English rich subjects from New Zealand educational institutions. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.

IELTS 5.5 Academic (with no band score lower than 5.0).  For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart.
