If you would like to work in the agriculture or horticultural sector our certificate provides the introductory skills you will need for employment.

You will be encouraged to think independently and develop your confidence and safety knowledge when working with machinery, livestock and/or plants.

Completion of this programme will support your entry into our Farm Cadet Programme (Level 3). The Farm Cadet Programme is two parts where you'll study the New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Vehicles Machinery and Infrastructure) and New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Farming Systems) .

This programme covers:

  • Safety
  • Quad bike, tractor, motor bike, light utility vehicles
  • Livestock handling and grazing management
  • Plant identification and care

Programme structure
