If you're working as a manager or team leader or would like to move into this area, with our fully online programme you will gain the formal recognition to manage people in the workplace and excel in management roles.
This qualification is delivered online to allow you to fit studies around your job and is designed for people who are currently or want to work in the management and leadership of a team or business unit.
You will learn how to contribute to organisational strategy, plan and prepare business information, prepare financial statements, perform financial analysis, create operational marketing plans and contribute to change management.
You will also have the ability to source and evaluate, problem solve and use information and communication technology effectively.
You need to have an internet ready computer, email software, Microsoft Office 2007 or other, desirable but not essential.
To complete this Diploma you are required to complete a minimum total of 120 credits. Please browse the guide below to view the course options currently available within this qualification.
To be a full time student you need to maintain a workload of 120 credits per year. We recommend you talk with us to ensure you choose electives to benefit your future career.
- 12 credits in NCEA English Level 1 and 36 credits in NCEA Level 2.
Evidence of literacy, numeracy and an ability to study at the appropriate level. This can be through study, work and/or life experience. Literacy and numeracy assessments are available.
You must be currently working in a supervisory/ management position, or have access to management functions, with access to a computer.
If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.
Note: If you have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements you are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills.

With this qualification you will be capable of operating professionally, ethically and responsibly to show positive leadership, while gaining a solid grounding in many areas of business management and be ready to launch your career in the field or advance from your current position.
Credits from this diploma can be credited towards the Bachelor of Applied Management, where you can specialise in accounting, business information systems, business transformation and change, event management, human resource management, innovation and entrepreneurship, operations and production management, project management and sales and marketing.
