Entry requirements

Academic requirements
  • 50 credits at Level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo; 4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing. The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards.

  • and a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher in mathematics (Pangarau) on the National Qualifications Framework.

  • If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.

    Note: If you have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements you are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills.

This qualification will give you a great start to your career and you could find work in management roles such as customer services manager, project management assistant and administration assistant.

With further experience you can move into middle management positions such as branch manager, senior sales, delivery manager or production manager. You will also be qualified for general or specific management roles that require an understanding of the underlying theories and practices of effective people management.

Study pathways

Completion of this diploma will give entry and credit recognition to the Business degree. Alternatively, you may continue your study and complete the NZ Diploma in Business.
