There are many career options in the business world, explore different facets of business in our diploma with specialist areas of study including, marketing, accounting and human resources.

In our full time one-year diploma you will gain practical skills and knowledge in general business areas such as communication and management. You will also have the opportunity for introductory study in specialist areas such as accounting, marketing, computing, law and economics.

Note: The Diploma in Business is an exit qualification from the NZ Diploma in Business and therefore only students who either exit from the NZ Diploma in Business after completing the required 120 credits or who had enrolled directly into the Diploma in Business are eligible for the award.

Entry requirements

Academic requirements
  • 50 credits at Level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo (4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing). The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards.

  • and a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework.

Alternative requirements
  • Equivalent relevant business experience.

Additional requirements
English requirements
  • If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.

    Note: If you have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements you are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills.
