International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) qualifications are optional in this certificate. If you choose to complete the exam, your qualifications will be recognised by employers and clients internationally. ITEC is an international examination board, operating in over 38 countries worldwide and their qualifications are supported by industry and easily transportable both nationally and internationally.
At the end of this programme you will meet the requirements to become a Registered New Zealand Beauty Therapist.
If you would like to expand your skills and specialisations, prepare yourself for more senior beauty therapy roles and gain an internationally recognised qualification then enrol on our Diploma in Beauty Therapies and Epilation.

If you have work experience in this area, or a relevant prior qualification, you may be eligible for credit recognition towards this qualification.
To complete this Certificate you are required to complete a minimum total of 120 credits. Please browse the guide below to view the course options currently available within this qualification.
To be a full time student you need to maintain a workload of 120 credits per year. We recommend you talk with us to ensure you choose electives to benefit your future career.
NCEA Level 1 (80 credits at level 1, including 10 literacy credits and 10 numeracy credits)
Skills for tertiary study (including literacy and numeracy) may be acquired through study, work and/or life experience. Students who can demonstrate these skills may be approved for alternative entry. Literacy and numeracy assessments are available.
