This course will enable you to further develop your comprehensive interviewing, physical examination and diagnostic reasoning skills for advanced nursing practice.
Demonstrate skills necessary to complete a comprehensive physical examination.
Demonstrate facilitation of case study scenario to colleagues exhibiting the clinical reasoning process.
Build upon clinical reasoning and assessment skills and knowledge within practicum, didactic and supervisorial venues.
Critically evaluate own understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology required for an advanced assessment, and identify individual learning needs.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the biophysical basis of health assessment, including the appropriate use of diagnostic investigations and their interpretation.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for developmental, socio-cultural, spiritual, mental/emotional, and cognitive assessment, and critically appraise theories underpinning assessments in these areas.
Demonstrate competent advanced diagnostic reasoning and planning, including collaboration with the client, client's family and other health professionals.
Demonstrate advanced assessment skills with appropriate documentation, within specialty scope of practice.
