To enable students to develop an understanding of and an appreciation for the conceptual thinking, strategic planning and tactical implementation of operational systems and processes to achieve event and management performance outcome.

Learning outcomes

Identify and describe, based on relevant literature review, the systems, physical resources and management processes of venue operation observed at a live event.

Analyse and critique the traffic management, customer management and site logistics of an outdoor event, with a focus on operational and health and safety issues.

Develop a comprehensive logistics plan for an event in a specified physical location, deploying staging and technical elements, to reveal how logistics aspects eg site management, lighting, sound, special effects, etc, contribute to the success of an event.
