Learning outcomes

Demonstrate correct lead placement of ECG electrodes for taking a 12-Lead ECG.

Identify the waves, intervals and segments on an ECG and calculate the rhythm and rate.

Identify and interpret atrial arrhythmias.

Identify and interpret ventricular arrhythmias

Identify and interpret atrioventricular blocks.

Identify and interpret ischaemic changes on a 12-Lead ECG.

Discuss the physiological implications of a rhythm disturbance on the individual, and the appropriate specific nursing considerations.
