Commercial road transport in New Zealand today isn't just about loading and driving a truck. It's a sophisticated logistical industry which requires qualified people and specialised equipment to store, handle and move all types of goods and deliver them to customers in perfect condition.
Opportunities in the road transport industry are diverse, ranging from storage, dispatch, sales and marketing, vehicle service and maintenance to passenger service, HR, accounts, driving, driver training/assessment and management.
Truck driving is a highly skilled occupation. It requires a sound knowledge of the rules and regulations governing heavy vehicle use on New Zealand roads along with high levels of skill to drive a heavy vehicle and transport its load safely and competently. That means working hard towards passing tests which will qualify you for driving different classes of heavy vehicle and other equipment requiring an endorsement to operate.
This programme will help you gain the critical skills and knowledge required to enter the road transport industry.
