Free courses available:

At Te Puna Wānaka we deliver short courses in Te Reo Māori flexible enough for anyone to get involved. We have lessons in classes and delivered online and these are supported by additional weekend Wānanga (language workshops).

Te Kākano

Te Kākano starts with the elementary aspects of the Māori language and quickly moves into sentence structures that will allow a student to converse effectively in prescribed settings. You will require access to the internet and recording/video capturing devices to complete assessments. Face to face delivery aspects and some assessment will be carried out at the one day Wānanga.

Te Pihinga

Te Pihinga builds on language skills developed in Te Kākano. Vocabulary is broadened and students begin to look at how language use can vary in different settings while learning associated vocabulary. You will require access to the internet and recording/video capturing devices to complete assessments. Face to face delivery aspects and some assessment will be carried out at the one day Wānanga.

If you'd like to learn Te Reo these courses are a great way to start.

Five Saturday Wānanga will be held throughout the duration of each course at Te Puna Wānaka, they will be from 9am - 5pm. In-class times are every Monday and Wednesday from 9am - 3pm.
