Science

Ara Institute of Canterbury Science offers a variety of programmes and courses leading to qualifications and careers in science, technology and health.

Our tutors have the industry connections, diverse skill sets and the experience to guide your learning. There is a strong emphasis on practical work with clinical and work placements a key to many learning experiences. Staff teaching on our degree programmes have a strong research culture and this expertise underpins the teaching within the school.

The Science facilities are at our City Campus in Christchurch.

Our science laboratories have the key equipment that you will use in the workplace. We ensure our science and biological laboratories are at the cutting edge with purpose built facilities including:

  • Advanced instrumentation for chemical analysis
  • Animal science diagnostic x-rays with animal room facilities

We work closely with businesses and organisations to ensure our programmes will equip you with the skills employers need. These relationships also enable us to facilitate work experience opportunities.
