Your Ara Student ID card is your formal identification for around the campus and the Students Association. It is available to you once you have fully enrolled and is valid for the duration of your study.
You can use your card to claim student prices or discounts outside of Ara.
The card has many benefits and allows you access to many things in and around the campus, including:
- use of our Health Centre
- use of the Library and Learning Services
- afterhours access to the campus and 24 hour computing suites
- use of the photocopiers.
Obtaining your card
Take your student ID number to the Security Office and ask for a Student ID card.
They will verify that you are enrolled, take your photo and provide you with your ID card.
Lost or stolen cards
If your card is lost or stolen firstly report this to the Admissions Team, at the Rakaia Centre. Your old card will be cancelled and a replacement card issued by Security.
To be able to use the 24 hour computing suite, you need to get this added to your Student ID Card. Visit the security desk and advise them of the rooms that you need access to. Once they confirm what you need, they will add this to your ID card.
Credit your ID card for printing
Use an Ara kiosk to add money to your printing account using your bank card (EFTPOS) or credit card and your student ID card. See IT help on Campus Life for kiosk locations.
See opening hours for all Ara campuses here.
- No cost for a Student ID Card.
- Replacement cards cost $20.
A Student ID card will only be available to you once you have completed formal enrolment and paid your tuition fees.
Your Student ID card is valid for the year of your study although there are some restrictions to what you can access after your study has finished.
Cards are not transferable to anyone else.
