It will be all cooks to the kitchen this Friday night, June 26, when CPIT Food and Hospitality tutors participate in the annual Ronald McDonald House supper club fundraising event.

Two tables of eight have a date with a plate at CPIT's Pantry café, adjoining the Visions on Campus restaurant, CPIT Manager of Culinary Programmes Ryan Marshall said.

"We're the only supper club supporters to have more than one table, so we're pretty chuffed to be playing an important role for a good cause, and this one is close to our hearts."

A four-course meal will be prepared by up to seven CPIT culinary tutors, who will also look after their 16 paying guests, to support the supper club's fundraising effort, for the families of sick children.

"We pride ourselves on being able to connect with the wider community in this way and we know that we are privileged to be working with high quality food that we can showcase to the public with a high level of service," Marshall said.

Food and Hospitality students will be involved with table service. 

Ronald McDonald House South Island Marketing and Communications Advisor Kylie Malin said 42 tables had been sold in the region, with a total of 336 guests.

"We have 52 restaurants, chefs and unique venues creating the night for us, all of which have all donated time, goods and services."

The supper club hoped to raise $100,000, to help support the 830 families of sick children in the next year, a nine per cent increase on last year, Malin said.

A pre-dinner function would be held at The Transitional Cathedral, where a guest family will speak, as well as a fundraising auction.
