Do you want to learn how to design and build warmer, cheaper and more sustainable houses? Now you will have access to even more opportunities to gain the latest knowledge in sustainable housing. Ara has joined the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC).

The NZGBC is a non-profit industry organisation that brings together all sectors of the building community, from urban planners to interior designers, who are committed to improving building sustainability in New Zealand.

Ara staff and students can now join as members and can receive discounts on NZGBC training courses and access to the organisation's knowledge hub which has information and research on green building practices. NZGBC also runs networking events and offers internships for students at NZGBC member organisations.

While students studying engineering, architecture, construction and interior design will find the opportunities at NZGBC particularly relevant, any Ara student can join for free.

Staff and students can download a membership form from the New Zealand Green Building Council website, complete it and email it back with either their full course confirmation or their current student ID card.
