Four Ara students will light up the dark night of Timaru. Jess Golding, Ethan Jaycock, Shayne Cadigan and Alyssia Kenton are Level 6 Digital Design and Photography students who saw the chance to light up Timaru when they got an assignment for their Professional Practice class.

"The visual artworks are from visual art and digital design students. It is interesting, diverse and effective to use everyone's work as we are all so different"; says Jess Golding.

Their project 'Light Up The Night' will be projected onto D block at the Ara Campus, visible from Arthur Street, to capture the public's attention. It will be a colourful mix of photos and videos covering the entire wall.

The four students have been preparing the light exhibition for the past three months as part of their studies. But the project has a bigger meaning for the students.

"With the merge and new name it would be great to bring everyone together across the institute. It is also a great chance to show people our work, what we can do."

Check it out Thursday 26th May at 6.30-7.30pm, Ara Campus, 32 Arthur Street Timaru.
