A programme is a recognised path of study, which generally leads to a formal qualification. Programmes are made up of individual courses, some of which may be compulsory in order to gain the qualification. Each course is part of a programme (e.g. communication skills is used in a number of our degree programmes).

Each programme has a code which identifies it to CPIT and to the Ministry of Education. They are made up of two letters and upto four numbers - e.g. CH3740 Bachelor of Business Computing

CH identifies it as a CPIT Programme. 3740 is the number allocated by the MOE.

Some national qualifications have the prefix ND National Diploma or NC National Certificate.
