Tennessee Davis on moving to a new city to study

At the age of 17 I left my little rural hometown to move to a city – scary! Or so I thought.

Arriving in Christchurch was a big day, leaving home and moving into Otautahi House with 74 other students, and not knowing a single one!

Day one of starting classes as a Bachelor of Nursing student was an exciting yet scary day, id never attended a lecture, let alone one run by the best Nursing Lecturers in the country, surrounded by 130 other prospective nurses.

Quickly I realized I wasn't the only one, most of us had made this big step to leave home and to start study at CPIT.

Within days the course far exceeded my expectations! The lecturers inspired us with tales of their experiences within the field – further solidifying my career choice! The knowledgeable learning services were there to support and assist with any troubles.

Now two years later, the skills I have gained and the friends made will be for life! The experiences I have had at CPIT are unforgettable!
