Jeremy Boys was appointed to the Ara Institute of Canterbury Council in January 2016. Jeremy started his career as a Civil Engineer working throughout the North Island in a range of civil, marine and roading projects. This gravitated to senior management roles in several contracting companies.
Most recently Jeremy was the Chief Executive of PrimePort Timaru where he led the Port for 13 years through significant change. He was instrumental in creating the shareholding partnership with Port of Tauranga which will have significant long term benefit for the South Canterbury region and also in bringing Holcim cement's South Island facilities to Timaru.
Jeremy's involvement in South Canterbury started earlier with the bringing together of the Timaru District Council contracting organisations and creating a single commercial company, which the Council were able to sell. The company built most of the revitalised main street of Timaru and Temuka.
His strong affinity with this region is underscored by his directorships of both South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce and Opuha Water Ltd. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and previously a member of the Professional Institute of Engineers.
